Picking a reception gown starts with how much lehenga you want to show: none with a closed gown, a front panel with a gown that opens at the front, or just the hem below a long peshwas, with or without a trail. For color, you can move from ivory, gray and ice blue to baby pink, peach, lilac, plum or deep red, with silver, rose gold or gold work. Choosing a gown for an Indian or Pakistani reception

A closed gown is the cleanest change from a lehenga: one shape and one color, with the work on the bodice and the flare. A front-open gown keeps a lehenga visible underneath, so it reads more traditional, and a peshwas swings as you walk. A trail makes the entrance and the stage photos; a floor-length or ankle-length hem without one is easier through a long evening of greeting guests.

Fabric, work and fit

Bodices and overlays can use organza, net, tissue silk or chiffon over skirts of katan silk, tissue silk, brocade or jamawar, with dabka, zari, salma sitara, sequins and pearls; a cancan layer can hold the flare out. For Custom Size, provide the requested measurements; the workshop works in inches. Every bridal design is open to Full Custom Design, and changes that add fabric, embroidery or labor are priced and approved before work starts.

How much does a reception gown cost?

Each gown shows its price in US dollars. Changes that add fabric, embroidery or labor are priced before work starts, and Rush Delivery ($59) or Super Rush Delivery ($199) is added only if you choose it; Normal Delivery is free.

How late can I order for my reception?

Normal Delivery takes up to 3 months. With less time, Rush Delivery brings the gown within up to 30 calendar days and Super Rush Delivery within up to 14. Each period starts the day after you order and covers production and shipping, so count back from the reception date.
