The label trades under the name Republic Womenswear by Sana Sikandar Khan and is based in Lahore. It runs stores in Gulberg and at Dolmen Mall. Couture sits alongside pret and unstitched lines, and bridal is one of several couture categories. Bridal couture arrives in seasonal editions.
Gowns, Veils and Scalloped Edges
Shadi Dress follows that gown-led direction. A jewel or boat neckline closes the gown high at the front, while a sweetheart or off-shoulder cut opens it up. Fully fitted bodices, sometimes belted at the waist, keep the line clean. Scallops finish the dupatta and sometimes the hem. A veil worn with the gown gives a Walima or reception look a clear bridal signal without a heavy lehenga. The lehenga sets pair a choli with a flared skirt. Naqshi, Mukaish and French Florals
The techniques are traditional even when the motifs look European. Naqshi, kora and dabka build raised metal work, while cutdana adds sparkle along lines and arches. Mukaish can be sprayed across the fabric in fine points. Bethki and ribbon work add texture on some gowns, and pita work, a flat metal strip, shows up on an off-shoulder gown. The effect is dense but even. Motifs borrow from French florals, and one reference adds palm trees and stars. Resham tilla and mirror work can appear on the dupatta, which keeps the shine near the face.
Walima, Reception and Fit

Such gowns depend on precise waist and hip figures, and an off-shoulder neckline needs an accurate upper-arm measurement so it stays up.
