Maroon Nikkah Dress – Farshi Lehenga

As a Farshi lehenga, the skirt falls to the floor with a circular full ghera. An attached cancan is included and helps keep the circular ghera open while supporting the flare.

The shirt is long, 38 to 44 inches, with full sleeves, a boat neck at the front and a closed back. Because it covers more of the skirt than a short choli would, the silhouette reads as a longer vertical line that opens out at the hem rather than dividing sharply at the waist.

The trail is optional, so the back view is a decision rather than a default: choose it for a longer rear profile at the entrance and in formal photographs, or leave it off for easier movement through a long function.

What the Embroidery Does

Dabka, kora, nakshi, resham thread work, sequin work, spray work, zardozi, zari work and Salma Sitara are used together across the shirt front, sleeves, back borders, dupatta borders and ghera.

The combination of multiple embroidery treatments gives the surface variation as the dress moves and catches the light. Crystals, pearls and sequins add further points of reflection among the thread work.

The embroidery colors are antique gold, copper, gold, silver and pastel multi. Against maroon, the warmer tones are more prominent at a distance, while silver and pastel details become more noticeable at closer range.
